Lombok Marina Del Ray is a result of the vision of its founder, Captain Raymond La Fontaine to build a the only integrated Marina facility halfway between Singapore and Darwin Australia. The 2500 NM are often referred to as the cruising pipeline. Lombok marina position now allows yachts that transit either east or west to rest halfway and use the predominate trade winds to their favor and providing provisioning, repairs (CIQ) Immigration, Customs and Quarantine international entry procedures at a world class marina facility located on a beautiful island part of the secret Gili Islands" Port Gili Gede.
In the case of the north west trades, January to April cruisers can sail with the winds eastward from Thailand, Malaysia Singapore, Hong kong and the northern Pacific and Western Indian Ocean and then rest up at Lombok Marina before continuing there journey back to Australia at the end of the cyclone season in April when the transition begins, May & June. This allows enough time for yachts to migrate to the east coast of Australia via the gulf of Carpentaria to Cairns before the prevailing south east trades take hold in July.
The adjoining Asian Sailing Calendar 2019/20 is designed to help sailors plan their routes using these winds and join other yachters/cruisers in organized rallies that follow the trades at the most optimum times of the year. As well allow foreign yachts the opportunity to explore Indonesia’s 17400 islands over 3 years while not having to worry about returning to Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Ocean.
All sailing routes lead to Lombok, a warm invitation is extended to all who would like to attend our official opening and the start of the first, Indonesian 10 day Inaugural “Presidential Air Asia Cup” to be raced around these stunning 16 islands in September 2019 the event will show case two weeks of festivities, water sports and a racing calendar with a racing, cruising and multi hull division.
